I love the Struts! Could Have Been Me is such a great song and I also adore Wild Child, their collab with Tom Morello who's one of my all-time favourite musicians. They're such an epic band.

It's one of those bands that doesn't have bad songs, right? Wild Child is great, and that whole album recorded during the pandemic is very impressive and full of great collaborations.

I first saw The Struts at Isle of Wight Festival in 2014 and was blown away! Good to see lots of love for them.

How wonderful! I'm surprised they aren't getting more love because they're a very solid band.

Me too! I thought at the time that they’d be really massive really quickly. Life’s not fair sometimes!

Great band and great article! I really like Luke Spiller's voice. Discovered him, and then the Struts, through the album he did with Mike Oldfield around 2013. Some great tracks on Pretty Vicious. Too Good at Raising Hell almost sounds like AC/DC hired someone that can actually sing!

That AC/DC comment was personal đŸ˜‚ I read something about how Luke Spiller was meant to do only one track for Mike Olfield but he loved his voice and did the whole album. I need to listen to it, I had forgotten about it so thanks for the reminder.

Lol! Sorry bout that. What rings out of the Oldfield album is Spiller's voice rather than the material. I think you said it, he can sing anything and make it sound good. Love the clips you shared too. The Struts as a band are even more versatile than I realised. One of Derby's finest exports!

Nothing to apologise for, it really made me laugh as I imagined Spiller dressed in a school uniform đŸ˜…
