Sorry to hear this Cristina! I hope (and I’m sure you will!) be back on your feet very soon. This happened to me once and it just feels like you’re instantly chasing your tail. So stressful!

Thanks so much, Gareth! I'm been extremely fortunate to find a new place already so now all the stressing has been shifted towards moving house (which is always an ordeal in itself 🙃)

Sorry you’re having to deal with this headache, Cristina. What a pain.

Thanks, Wendy. The silver lining is that I've learned about other people who found themselves in this situation in the past and it's comforting to know that they all bounced back despite the initial shock so while it's a stressful situation, I trust it'll be ok in the end.

Ouch, I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. The renting market is absolute madness. This is one of the reasons why we left London - but it's not much different here in Brighton these days.

Thank you, Sascha. It's been a steep change over the last decade and I can understand Brexit and Covid have both had an impact and like you say it's not much different outside of London. I hope that at least the new legislation will help protect tenants a bit more.

I’m so sorry you’re in this situation. The whole housing market here is completely screwed and renters are doubly so. If I fall under a bus tomorrow, I recommend you marry my husband as he’s really very nice, has all his own teeth and is good at cleaning up and tidying. Oh and lives in zone 3.

Oh Claire, thanks so much for this. Fingers crossed it doesn't have to come to that and that you and your husband can live many years happily together 😂 I'm hopeful that things are about to change for the better with the new Renters' Rights Bill, which will offer more protection against evictions in the future to protect good tenants.
